MONTHLY TOUR INFORMATION
WEEKEND TRIPS:
Golden Week Cycling Tour:
Day 1: Ride: Fukuoka to Hita. 70-80km. Rolling terrain with one small mountain climb. Stay at local ryokan (Japanese style inn) in Hita. (optional visit to Sapporo Beer Factory)
Day 2: Ride: Hita to Yufuin. 60-70km. Rolling terrain with to big mountains. Shorter day but difficult. As an option we can drop off our bags at the ryokan, climb Mt. Yufu and do some sightseeing in Yufuin which is famous for their onsens (natural hotspring baths).
Day 3: Ride. Yufuin to Oita. 60km. Rolling terrain. Big steep climb out of Yufuin over the back side of Mt. Yufudake. Crazy fast, fun descent into Beppu. One more climb to Oita. Stay in Oita's Restaurant and Bar District and enjoy some night life.
Day 4: Ride. 40-100km. Option 1, loop ride in the mountains near Oita City. Option 2, Coastal route from Oita to Saiki. Option 3, short easy sightseeing ride in Oita and Beppu.
Feel free to ride 1 day or as many as you can!
Tour of Kyushu Training Camp:
The Kyushu Cycling Club is holding a 7 day bicycle ride from Fukuoka to Kagoshima. This is a FREE event for Kyushu Cycling Club members. All you need to pay for is your hotel/ryokan and food. The Kyushu Cycling Club will make all the arrangements.
The route is away from main roads and train lines. This is an excellent opportunity to see parts of rural Japan that most people never see. Travelling these roads and seeing it from the seat of a bicycle is truly, a unique experience.
Trip Itinerary:

Day 5: Ride: Saiki to Nobeoka. 80km. Rolling with some small climbs. Beautiful coastline with options to do some climbing in the mountains. Nobeoka is known for having one of the most beautiful beaches in Japan and the best Chicken Nan Ban in the world.
Day 6: Take a train ride to Kagoshima City and tour the city.
Day 7: Ride: 60-80km. Take a ferry to Mt. Sakurajima. (active volcano) Experience the thrill of riding an erupting volcano through smoke and ash. In the afternoon, return to Fukuoka on The Shinkansen. (Bullet Train.)
Pub and Pedal Bicycle Tour
Need we say more? This tour visits breweries, sake factories and Kyushu area watering holes. Bottoms up!!!

Day 1: 30km. Ride to The Hakata Hyakunengura, Gallery Hall, the oldest sake distillery in Kyushu. Tour of factoy and sake tasting. Then take a short ride to The Asahi Brewery and sample the best beer in Japan. In the evening, visit one of Nakasu's (Fukuoka's Red Light District) Yatai. Here, we eat in one of the outdoor food stalls and experience the true culture of Japan's night life.
Day 2: 50-70km. Ride from Fukuoka to Hita. Epic ride through Japan's country side and mountains. (Great way to cure your hangover!!) Check in to Ryokan (Japanese Style Inn) and tour the Sapporo Brewery. Of course, we taste the beer. In the evening, we party it up Japanese style in the small city of Hita.
Day 3: 50-60km. Ride from Hita to Yufuin. Nice ride through the mountains to the famous onsen town. Enjoy a natural hot spring bath and local food served up by a family run guest house. In the evening, drink locally made beer, wine and sake.
Day 4: 50-60km. Ride from Yufuin to Oita City. Again, epic ride through the mountains and crazy, fun descent to the Pacific Ocean. Oita City's, Miyako Machi area is one of Japan's best places to (Tie One On). Booze, girls and karaoke.
Day 5: 20-60km. Tour the nearby city of Beppu. Famous for onsens, mountains, beaches and drinking!! We'll take a midnight train back to Fukuoka and detox.
COMING TO AMERICA (Tour Of Oregon)
February 2015 and August 2015
Starting in Portland, Oregon, this ride travels east up the Columbia River Gorge before heading south to visit some of the highest peaks in the Cascade Mountain Range. We will continue southeast into Oregon's high desert region where "The Old West"
still lives on. After leaving "The Old West" behind the ride enters pristine mountain wilderness with a ride up to and around one of the seven wonders of the world, Crater Lake.
This tour is fully supported with van, mechanic, and guide. We will stay in hotels and vacation homes. We will eat good food and drink locally brewed beer.
